Privacy policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Valu Ventures ("we", "us", "our") is a venture studio with a team across Sydney, Australia and Mumbai, India. This policy explains what personal information we collect through valu.ventures and the businesses we run on it (including our Fried - AI consulting service), why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and, where they apply to you, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address.
- Demo bookings: your name, email address, the time you choose, anything you add in the notes or guest fields, and which plan's button you used to book (for example, "Partner").
- Emails and messages: your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell us when you contact us, for example at hello@valu.ventures or on a call.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and analytics data: pages you visit, buttons you click (such as "Book a call"), how long you stay, the site that referred you, and general device information such as browser, operating system, screen size and approximate location (country or city) based on your IP address.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser type and request details, which our hosting provider records in server logs to deliver the site and keep it secure.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (such as health, financial or government identity information), and we ask that you do not send it to us.
How we use your information
- To send you our newsletter and build in public updates, if you have signed up.
- To schedule, prepare for and hold demo calls, and to follow up afterwards.
- To reply to your messages and provide services you ask for.
- To understand how the site is used, which pages and plans people are interested in, and to improve our content and services.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and meet our legal obligations.
Where GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (newsletter and Google Analytics cookies), on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (demo bookings and enquiries), and on our legitimate interests in understanding and improving our website and keeping it secure (cookie-free page view analytics and server logs).
Cookies and analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies (such as _ga) in your browser to count visits and understand how people use the site. Google Analytics only loads after you choose "Accept" in our cookie banner. If you choose "Decline", it does not load and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which measures page views without cookies and does not identify you.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site still works if you do.
Overseas transfers
Our team works from Australia and India, and our service providers store and process data in other countries, including the United States. When your information is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected, such as using providers that offer contractual data protection commitments.
We share information only with service providers that help us run our website and services, such as hosting, analytics, scheduling and email tools, and we never sell it.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Bookings and enquiries: for as long as we need them to talk with you and provide our services, and then for up to two years unless we need them longer for legal, tax or accounting reasons.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- ask us to delete your information;
- withdraw your consent, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter using the link in any email;
- object to or ask us to limit how we use your information.
To make a request, email hello@valu.ventures. We will reply within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls to protect your information. No method of storing or sending data online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our website and services are meant for adults running or working in businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your information, email hello@valu.ventures and we will try to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the regulator where you live: in Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner; in India, the Data Protection Board of India; in the EU or UK, your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website and services change. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
